Forage for Horses

Preserved forage packaged in bales has in recent years been recognized and increasingly popular as feed in the horse industry. Thanks to silage high nutritional value and palatability this has largely replaced cereal diets of many horse owners, and the interest for silage as alternative feed is steadily increasing in Europe.

Together with Sara Muhonen on Equi-Nutrition we run the website www.forageforhorses.com to provide advice and information based on current knowledge and research. Sara Muhonen received her postgraduate education at the Department of Animal Nutrition and Management and her Master of Science degree in agriculture (animal science) at SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences).
